Death Doula Certification Course

Death Doula Certification Course

Our Death Doula Certification Course is a gentle, grounded training for those who feel called to sit at the bedside, hold a hand, and make the final chapter of life more peaceful for everyone involved. As an experienced RN and long-time end-of-life educator, we guide you through this work with both clinical understanding and deep respect for the sacredness of dying.

Together, we explore the dying process in clear, compassionate language: what to expect physically, how to recognize common signs and symptoms, and how to work alongside hospice and medical teams. From there, we move into the heart of death doula work-listening, presence, legacy work, vigil planning, and supporting families through anticipatory grief.

You'll learn how to create a calm, comforting environment at the bedside using simple tools like sound, breath, touch (when welcome), and ritual that honors each person's culture and beliefs. We also look honestly at the emotional weight of this role and offer practices for grounding, debriefing, and protecting your own nervous system so you can show up consistently without losing yourself.

Classes are offered online with opportunities for live discussion, reflection, and gentle practice. We hold space for questions about faith, fear, guilt, and regret-nothing is too "strange" or too tender to bring into our circle.

By the end of this course, you'll have a clear framework for working as a death doula: from first meeting a family, to planning vigils, to navigating the hours and days after a death. Whether you want to support your own loved ones or step into this as a vocation, you'll leave with practical tools, emotional steadiness, and a community of like-hearted humans walking beside you.
