Community Death Cafe Workshops

Community Death Cafe Workshops

Community Death Cafe Workshops are free, welcoming gatherings where we sit together over tea and speak openly about death, dying, and what truly matters in the time we have. There is no agenda, no pressure to share more than you wish, and no "right" belief system required.

Guided by an experienced RN and Death Doula educator, these circles are grounded, practical, and human. We gently explore questions like: How do I want to be cared for at the end of my life? What conversations do I need to have with my family? What comforts me-and what scares me-about death? The goal is not to dwell in fear, but to bring light to a topic most of us were taught to avoid.

You might attend because you're caring for someone with a serious illness, grieving a loss, or simply curious about how to prepare. Many people leave feeling less alone, more informed, and oddly lighter-like they can breathe a little easier now that unspoken worries have words.

While these workshops are not therapy or formal counseling, they can be profoundly supportive alongside those resources. We offer simple tools for values-based planning, ideas for gentle conversations with loved ones, and introductions to concepts like Death Doulas and end-of-life care options.

You are free to come and simply listen, or to share your own experiences of loss, nursing, hospice, or spiritual questions. All feelings are welcome-tears, laughter, confusion, even relief. Our role is to hold a safe container where you can be honest without needing to protect others from your truth.

If you've been longing for a place to talk about death in a calm, respectful, even comforting way, these Community Death Cafe Workshops offer that rare space. You are warmly invited to pull up a chair, pour a cup of tea, and join the conversation many of us have been waiting our whole lives to have.
